Recently I found out that the nearest railway station for all travelers to Kerala from Kundalahalli is the small station located at just 10 kms from Brookefields. I used to always take the Bangalore Cantonment Station, especially when traveling on Intercity Express. One of my friends suggested this station, and I thought will try this, as you can avoid the complete traffic till Bangalore Cantonment Station.
After last week’s announcement of Marathahalli to have its own RTO, now comes the news that Marathahalli is going to have a new TTMC – Traffic and Transit Management Center.
TTMCs offer bus platforms for stream lining of traffic – a very much need near Marathahalli Bridge, BMTC & KSRTC booking counters, Food Court, Drinking Water, ATMs, public facilities, Multi-level car parking, shops, etc…. The question is – where in Marathahalli? The most crowded place is the Marathahalli-Outer Ring Road junction, and this is where the worst clogging of buses takes.
It is estimated that nearly 10000+ persons commute through this area. So a TTMC is a absolute requirement. Have to wait and watch the action from BMTC.
Fifteen-year-old Tripura schoolboy Parinaha Chakraborty has come up with an innovative way of using a windmill to generate electricity that can light up bulbs inside a moving train. Parinaha came up with the idea after travelling on a meter gauge train that did not have electricity, water or toilet facilities — even though such trains cover distances upto 200 km, often at night.
“The conventional energy mechanism is obsolete in these trains,” says Parinaha, who travelled with his parents from Agartala to Dharmanagar on the northern end of Tripura last year sitting in one such train in pitch darkness.
That’s when he started thinking how to improve the lighting. Last December, he hit upon the solution — an incredibly simple and effective one — that involves installing a windmill in front of the train. Using the speed of the train, the windmill produces mechanical energy which can easily be converted into electrical energy that can light up low voltage bulbs inside the train.
Looks like it is the end of the day for Easy Day. With the recent announcement from Bharti Retail on closing some of the retail shops which they were having problem with Walmart’s strict rules on graft & bribes, it might be closure time for this store.
Easy Day at AECS Layout has been ready since the last few months, but has not been opened yet. Hope this branch doesn’t fall under this decision of Bharti Retail, and residents of AECS gets a chance to shop at Easy Day.
As per the latest finance budget presented on 12th July 2013, Marathahalli is all set to a new RTO. Good news for all residents in Marathahalli as right now they had to either go to Indiranagar RTO or to K.R.Puram RTO. And also real good news for all the touts – they just got another new branch.
Watch out for this post for more details on the location and other details.
As per the recently launched Download speed results by Net Index, India ranks a lowly 138 in a list of 185 countries surveyed. Our download speed of 3.20 Mbps is lower than Sri Lanka, who is ranked 137 with a speed of 3.31 Mbps. Hong Kong tops the list with a speed of 48.97 Mbps, which if my math is right, around 1500 times faster than ours.
